A Message from Richard and Nancy LaMotte
of Chesapeake Seaglass.

For many years most of us have been content doing our own thing. In October
of 2004 that changed when a public event was created for sea glass artists
and enthusiasts. As several of you know, the organizer of that Northeast Sea
Glass Festival has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Our festival founder is in the midst of a health crisis so we are hoping to gather
support from the sea glass community to produce an auction that will provide
her some assistance in her time of need. As an artist and musician, she
has given countless hours to the Gloucester, Massachusetts seARTS
organization. Following months of tireless efforts she produced the first
ever sea glass festival in October of 2004. The event attracted over 550
visitors and she intentionally made it affordable for everyone, but put
her own needs aside.

Our request to you is to provide either a piece of sea glass artwork,
jewelry, or even a unique piece of sea glass, that could fetch a fair dollar
on a national auction promoted on EBay. The items would include descriptions
and be linked back to your site providing a direct benefit to the donor.
The entire collection can be placed on a master page established under the title
"The Great Sea Glass Auction - 2005." If donors wish not to be mentioned
we can accommodate varying needs.

WHAT NEXT?
1. If you would like to participate you can email us back or call us at
410-778-4999. (Note we will be out 6/3-9 but Amanda will be here to help or
relay questions.)

2. When we get the details finalized we will contact you regarding a good
quality digital image of the actual artwork or sea glass for use on the
master page and EBay (Note the master page is simply a promotion page).

3. You have the option of sending the item to us or drop shipping it
directly to the winning bidder. We can photograph and post the item as well
as ship it to the winner.

We hope that you will promote the said auction on your site but realize this
may not work for some artists who wish to prevent their clients from seeing
competing goods.

For those not familiar with the web site for the Sea Glass Festival
is at www.artsgloucester.com/seaglassfestival/

Please let us know if you have any additional ideas that would lend to the
success of this event. Thank you!
