In 1692, inexplicably, a group of teenage girls took to fits.

Fingers were pointed. They saw the devil over many a good Christian neighbor's fence. Reasonable doubt played no part in the English law of the day. Petty small town disputes led to the courts. Those who would not admit were led to the gallows. Ninteen were hung and one was pressed to death.

But time dissolves solid memory. And one person's horror is another person's fun.
